The SGS 33305 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. Built to Series 3L long-length specifications, it features a 5/16 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/8 inch length of cut, and a 3 inch overall length. The two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction delivers consistent edge sharpness and wear resistance. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. It is suited for machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production and job-shop environments.
The SGS 33305 is applicable across multiple material categories including steel, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and titanium, as indicated by workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The long-series length of cut makes it well suited for deeper slot milling, stepped features, and applications where a standard-length end mill cannot reach. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill compatible with standard ER collet chucks, end mill holders, and side-lock holders accepting a 5/16 inch straight cylindrical shank.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before mounting or removing the end mill. Secure the shank fully within the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth to prevent pullout under cutting loads. Verify spindle speed and feed rate settings are appropriate for the workpiece material before beginning the cut.
