The SGS 33132 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-precision milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 0.5-inch diameter cutting head with a 3-inch length of cut and an overall length of 6 inches, placing it in the extra-long category for extended reach applications. The micrograin carbide construction and 30-degree right-hand helix deliver consistent chip evacuation and surface finish quality. Four flutes provide a balance of cutting performance and rigidity. This tool is installed by machinists and CNC operators in job shop, tool-and-die, and production machining environments.
The SGS 33132 is suited for profiling, contouring, slotting, and finishing passes in materials classified under workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S — covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, high-temp alloys, and steel grades. The extra-long overall length of 6 inches allows access to deep pockets and tall workpieces where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The single-end, uncoated configuration makes it a practical choice when specific coating requirements are left to the operator or when re-sharpening is preferred.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer, covering steel, cast iron, non-ferrous, stainless, high-temp alloys, and hardened materials. Designed as an OEM-style fit for standard 0.5-inch collets and toolholders accepting a 0.5-inch shank diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists using CNC or manual milling machines with a compatible 0.5-inch collet or end mill holder. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in a safe state before changing tooling. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when setting depth of engagement, as overhanging beyond the flute length risks tool deflection and breakage.
