The SGS 33127 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal cutting and machining environments. It features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length, placing it in the extra long category for extended reach applications. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with a 30-degree helix angle and variable index promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced chatter. The micrograin carbide substrate delivers hardness and wear resistance suitable for demanding cuts. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling professionals in shop and production environments.
The SGS 33127 is suited for milling operations in materials spanning ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steels, cast irons, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its extra long length of cut makes it appropriate for deep-pocket milling, slotting, and profiling where standard-length end mills cannot reach. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders commonly found on vertical machining centers and CNC mills.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use end mill compatible with standard 3/8 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC vertical machining centers, knee mills, and similar equipment accepting straight-cylindrical shanks.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists following shop safety protocols and machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or collet is de-energized before inserting or removing the end mill. Verify shank seating depth and collet torque per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut or apply side loads beyond the tool geometry limits, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to breakage under excessive deflection.
