The SGS 33124 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring extended reach and a full ball-nose profile. With a 0.25 inch cutting diameter and 1.5 inch length of cut, this tool handles contoured surfaces, 3D profiling, and deep-pocket finishing where standard-length tooling cannot reach. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance across a broad range of workpiece materials. This is a single-end, uncoated tool intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals in CNC machining environments.
The SGS 33124 is suited for milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, and non-metallic materials falling under material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its extra-long series (1ELB) classification makes it appropriate for applications such as deep cavity milling, core and cavity work in mold making, and contour finishing in aerospace and precision manufacturing. The variable index geometry helps reduce harmonic vibration during cuts, improving surface finish quality in production settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.25 inch straight shank with a shank diameter tolerance of +0.00000 to -0.00035 inches.
Install and removal should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Confirm that the collet or tool holder is clean and within specification for a 0.25 inch shank before securing the tool. Verify runout after installation and before beginning any cut. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the workpiece material and machine spindle rating.
