The SGS 33103 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. Built to Series 1L long-length standards, it features a 0.250-inch mill diameter, a 1.125-inch length of cut, and a 3.000-inch overall length. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. Micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited for demanding cutting conditions. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose use. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this tool in production and maintenance environments.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a broad spectrum of workpiece materials including cast irons, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, titanium alloys, carbon steels, and high-temperature alloys, as reflected by its primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The long-series length makes it a practical choice when extended reach is needed in pockets, slots, or stepped features. Single-end configuration means the tool is used from one cutting end only, which is standard for this tool class.
Designed for use in standard straight-shank collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 0.250-inch shank diameter. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual milling machines configured for right-hand rotation. Suitable for workpiece materials in ISO material groups H, K, M, N, P, and S.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder with a 0.250-inch bore and torque the drawbar or clamping nut to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut to confirm proper seating and minimize tool deflection.
