The SGS 32839 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for roughing operations in non-ferrous metals. It features a 1/2-inch diameter, a 0.03-inch corner radius, and three right-hand helical flutes designed to move material aggressively while maintaining edge integrity. The TiB2 (Ti-NAMITE-B) coating reduces friction and resists built-up edge on aluminum, copper, and similar materials. At 6 inches overall length with a 3-3/8-inch reach, this tool is built for extended-reach applications that require clearance over workpiece features. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this in CNC machining centers where access depth and chip evacuation are critical factors.
This end mill is designed for non-ferrous metal applications, including aluminum alloys, copper, brass, and similar materials coded N under standard workpiece material classification. The extended reach geometry and short flute length make it well-suited for pocket milling, profiling, and finishing passes in deep cavities or stepped workpieces. It accepts standard end mill holders with a straight-cylindrical shank. The coarse pitch and high helix angle support efficient chip evacuation during high-material-removal roughing passes on CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Intended for non-ferrous metal machining applications, Series S-Carb 43LC. Compatible with CNC machining centers accepting 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical shank tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with CNC tooling and end mill holder torque requirements. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an e-stop or locked-out state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the holder to the minimum insertion depth recommended by the holder manufacturer before torquing set screws or collet nuts. Verify runout with a dial indicator after installation before beginning a cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on a three-flute geometry.
