The SGS 32717 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in metalworking and machining applications. Built to Series 43L long-length specifications, it features a 0.75 inch cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length for extended reach into deep pockets and slots. The 3-flute geometry with a 38-degree spiral helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. Micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting environments. This tool is center-cutting and right-hand cut with a right-hand flute direction, making it suitable for conventional milling operations on non-ferrous metals and similar materials.
The SGS 32717 is intended for CNC machining centers and manual mills where extended reach is required. Its long-series design and 3.375 inch reach length allow access to deep features without sacrificing rigidity. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.75 inch diameter fits standard ER and side-lock toolholders commonly used in production and job-shop environments. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous metal workpieces including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys where coating adhesion or built-up edge can be a concern.
Designed for use on non-ferrous metal workpieces as indicated by the N-grade material classification. Fits standard 0.75 inch bore toolholders including ER collet chucks and side-lock holders. Part of the SGS Series 43L long-length end mill family.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured to the correct runout tolerance before engaging a cut. Use the appropriate collet or toolholder that matches the 0.75 inch straight-cylindrical shank diameter to maintain concentricity. Verify feed rate and spindle speed settings are appropriate for the workpiece material before beginning a cut.
