The SGS 32710 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Built to Series 43L long-reach specifications, this single-end mill features a 0.5 inch cutting diameter, a 0.625 inch length of cut, and a 38-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup at the cutting edge. The micrograin carbide construction provides the rigidity and wear resistance required for tight-tolerance work in aluminum, brass, copper, and similar materials. Machinists and CNC programmers running high-speed finishing or semi-finishing passes will find the three-flute geometry a practical balance between chip clearance and surface finish quality.
This end mill is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines operating on non-ferrous workpieces in production and job-shop environments. The extended reach design, with a 2.125 inch reach length and 6 inch overall length, allows access to deeper pockets and stepped features that standard-length tooling cannot reach. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for use in non-ferrous materials where coatings such as TiN or AlTiN are unnecessary or contraindicated.
Designed for use with standard 1/2 inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Primary workpiece material designation is non-ferrous metal (material code N), including aluminum, brass, and copper alloys. Series 43L long-length classification.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing tooling. Seat the straight cylindrical shank fully into the collet or holder to the recommended minimum engagement depth per the toolholder manufacturer's specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning cuts, as excessive runout accelerates wear and reduces surface finish quality on carbide tooling.
