The SGS 32685 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for high-performance material removal and finishing in demanding machining environments. With a 1/2 inch mill diameter, 2 inch length of cut, and a 0.030 inch corner radius, this tool delivers edge strength and surface finish control in a single pass. The 5-flute, single-end design runs right-hand cutting with a high helix style and variable index geometry that reduces chatter and improves chip evacuation. An AlTiN coating — SGS designation Ti-NAMITE-A — provides thermal resistance and extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. Overall length is 4 inches with a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank. Rated for both roughing and finishing operations.
The SGS 32685 is built for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. It fits standard end mill toolholders with a 1/2 inch bore and is suited to CNC machining centers handling precision components where corner geometry must be held to tight tolerances. The long flute length supports deeper axial engagement in pockets, slots, and contoured profiles. It is well-suited to shops running high-temp alloys and hardened workpieces that require a coated carbide tool to maintain edge integrity.
Designed for use with standard end mill toolholders accepting a 1/2 inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials as indicated by SGS material application codes P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the toolholder bore and collet are clean and within spec before seating the shank — contamination or runout will accelerate edge wear on a carbide tool. Confirm spindle direction is right-hand before engaging the cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed when programming for the specific workpiece material.
