The SGS 32680 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series 55 specifications, it features a 5/8-inch cutting diameter, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and five flutes with a 45-degree helix angle. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. The variable index design reduces harmonic vibration, helping maintain consistent surface finish and dimensional accuracy. This tool is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC machining centers or manual mills.
The SGS 32680 is suited for milling hardened steels, stainless steels, titanium alloys, cast irons, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S. Its stub-length profile with a 3-inch overall length provides rigidity in setups where overhang must be minimized. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry make it compatible with standard spindle rotation on conventional machining equipment. It is not a centercutting tool and should not be used for plunge operations.
Designed for use with standard straight-bore end mill holders and collet chucks accepting a 5/8-inch shank diameter. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, titanium alloys, and high-temperature alloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Use a properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, and do not use this tool for plunge milling as it is not centercutting.
