The SGS 32676 is a 5-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding material groups. Built to Series 55 specifications, it features a 3/8-inch mill diameter, a 1/2-inch length of cut, and a 2-inch overall length on a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. The 45-degree helix angle and variable index flute spacing reduce harmonic vibration and improve chip evacuation during aggressive cuts. The AlTiN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard and exotic alloys. This tool is spec'd for right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction. It is a single-end, stub-length configuration suited for rigid setups where reach is not a limiting factor. Installation is performed by machinists and toolroom technicians.
The SGS 32676 is intended for milling operations on materials classified under primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S - covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature superalloys. The stub-length geometry and 5-flute construction favor higher feed rates and improved surface finish in finishing and semi-finishing passes. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and peripheral milling in CNC machining centers where tool stiffness and vibration control are priorities. The micrograin carbide substrate supports the demands of these difficult-to-machine material families.
Rated for primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S - covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature superalloys. Fits standard 3/8-inch collet chucks and end mill holders accepting straight-cylindrical shanks.
Installation is performed by machinists using a compatible collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the 3/8-inch shank diameter. Verify that the tool holder is clean and free of runout before seating the shank. This tool is not centercutting - do not use for plunge entry without a pre-drilled pilot hole or ramping entry strategy. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when changing tooling in CNC spindles.
