The SGS 32621 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for demanding metal removal applications in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 5/16 inch mill diameter, a 1-1/4 inch length of cut, and a 0.015 inch corner radius that blends the strength of a square end with the surface finish benefit of a radius geometry. Five helical flutes with a high helix and variable index deliver smooth chip evacuation and reduced chatter across both roughing and finishing passes. The Ti-NAMITE-A AlTiN coating adds thermal resistance and surface hardness, extending tool life in high-speed and dry cutting environments. Overall length is 4 inches with a 5/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. It ships as a single-end tool in single-piece packaging.
This end mill is suited for trade machinists and tool-and-die professionals running CNC machining centers or manual mills where tight tolerances and finish quality are required in ferrous and exotic materials. The Series 55CR long-length design supports deeper cavity work and extended-reach setups in molds, dies, and structural aerospace components. It is rated for steel and stainless steel as primary workpiece materials and is also rated for hard materials as a secondary application, making it a strong choice when working hardened tool steels or similar difficult-to-machine alloys. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional end mill toolholding setups.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per SGS Series 55CR material application designations P, M, K, S, and H.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with end mill toolholding systems and machine spindle runout requirements. Confirm the end mill holder bore matches the 5/16 inch shank diameter and that shank tolerance class h6 is within the holder specification before securing. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing the tool. Avoid exceeding the rated length of cut to prevent deflection and premature edge failure.
