The SGS 32500 is a 5-flute solid carbide ball end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding materials. It features a 0.25-inch mill diameter, a 0.75-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length with a matching 0.25-inch shank diameter. The 45-degree high helix geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life in ferrous and exotic alloy applications. This single-end mill is built from micrograin carbide stock and is suited for finishing passes where surface quality and dimensional accuracy are critical. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers.
The SGS 32500 Series 55B ball end mill is intended for finishing operations across a range of workpiece materials, including hardened steels, stainless steels, titanium alloys, cast iron, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, P, and S. Its right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC machining center spindles. The 0.125-inch nose radius produces accurate contoured surfaces in 3D profiling, die work, and complex cavity milling applications. It is suited for both vertical and horizontal machining setups where a 0.25-inch shank tool holder is available.
The SGS 32500 is part of the Series 55B line and is rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, P, and S, covering hardened steels, stainless steels, cast irons, titanium, and high-temperature alloys. Requires a 0.25-inch shank tool holder.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Always confirm the tool holder bore matches the 0.25-inch shank diameter before seating the end mill. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Inspect the collet or end mill holder for runout before beginning a finishing operation, as excessive runout will reduce tool life and compromise surface finish.
