The SGS 32313 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a controlled taper profile. It features a 10-degree taper angle per side, a 3/32-inch small end diameter, and a 1/2-inch length of cut. With three flutes and a right-hand spiral configuration, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. The micrograin carbide construction provides wear resistance across a range of workpiece materials. This tool is centercutting, allowing both plunge and contour operations. It is intended for use by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC operators working in production or job-shop environments.
The SGS 32313 is suited for milling tapered slots, draft angles, and contoured features in materials including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The 1/4-inch shank diameter fits standard collet chucks and toolholders common to vertical machining centers and CNC routers. The 3-inch overall length provides reach for moderate-depth tapered pocket work without excessive overhang.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as defined by the SGS Series 23 classification, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, aluminum alloys, non-ferrous metals, and superalloys. Fits any standard 1/4-inch collet or toolholder.
Installation and operation of this end mill should be performed by qualified machinists following standard CNC or manual milling machine setup procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before mounting or removing the tool. Seat the shank fully in a clean, properly sized collet or end mill holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates wear on small-diameter tapered tools.
