The SGS 32055 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in non-ferrous metal applications. Built on SGS Series 44, this stub-length tool features a 0.25 inch cutting diameter, a 1.75 inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide substrate is finished with a Titanium Diboride (TiB2) coating, which reduces friction and extends tool life when cutting aluminum, copper, brass, and similar non-ferrous workpiece materials. With a straight cylindrical shank of 0.375 inches and an overall length of 3.5625 inches, this end mill is compatible with standard collet chucks and end mill holders. It is suited for CNC machining centers and manual milling machines in production and job-shop environments.
The SGS 32055 is intended for use in applications involving non-ferrous metals, where the TiB2 coating and high-helix geometry provide a performance advantage over standard uncoated tooling. The centercutting design allows for plunge milling as well as peripheral and slot milling operations. With a 2-flute configuration, this end mill maximizes chip clearance, making it well suited for slotting and pocketing in softer, gummy materials that can load up multi-flute tools. Machinists and CNC operators in aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking shops are the primary users of this tool.

Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or holder and torque the retention device per the machine or toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and degrades surface finish.
