The SGS 32047 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precise milling operations in non-ferrous metals and similar materials. With a 3/4-inch cutting diameter and a 4-inch length of cut, this tool handles deep-cavity and slotting work where reach and rigidity matter. The 2-flute configuration and 45-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup and improving surface finish. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals install this type of end mill in CNC machining centers and manual mills for contouring, profiling, and slotting applications.
This end mill is suited for use on non-ferrous metals, including aluminum, copper, brass, and similar workpiece materials. The straight-cylindrical shank at 3/4 inch fits standard ER collets and end mill holders common in shop environments. The regular-length classification and 6-1/4-inch overall length make it a practical choice for general-purpose milling where extreme reach is not required. It is an uncoated tool, which is standard for non-ferrous cutting where coating adhesion to softer materials can cause built-up edge issues.
Designed for use with non-ferrous metal workpieces; the 3/4-inch straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard ER collet chucks and end mill holders used in CNC and manual milling machines.
This tool is installed by machinists in CNC machining centers or manual mills using a collet chuck or end mill holder rated for the 3/4-inch shank diameter. Before tool changes, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state per the equipment manufacturer's lockout/tagout procedure. Verify runout with a dial indicator after clamping to confirm proper seating. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
