The SGS 32043 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of non-ferrous metals and similar materials. With a 0.625-inch mill diameter, 1.625-inch length of cut, and a 3.75-inch overall length, this tool delivers consistent, accurate stock removal in CNC and manual milling applications. The 45-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry directly into the workpiece. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with aluminum, brass, copper, and other non-ferrous alloys are the primary users of this end mill.
The SGS 32043 is suited for use in vertical and horizontal machining centers as well as manual knee mills. Its two-flute configuration provides larger chip gullets, making it well matched to gummy non-ferrous materials that require open flute geometry to prevent recutting. The straight cylindrical shank measures 0.625 inches in diameter and seats directly in standard end mill holders, collet chucks, and shrink-fit systems. This is a regular-length tool appropriate for standard-reach applications where extended reach is not required.
Designed for use in standard end mill holders, ER collet chucks, and shrink-fit toolholders accepting a 0.625-inch straight cylindrical shank. Intended for milling non-ferrous metals as specified by primary workpiece material code N per SGS Series 44 tooling designations.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the toolholder manufacturer's clamping torque guidelines. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in an E-stop state before changing tooling. Verify runout at the tool tip after seating in the holder, as carbide end mills are sensitive to excessive TIR. Do not use this uncoated end mill on ferrous materials, as carbide without an appropriate coating is susceptible to accelerated wear on steel and cast iron.
