The SGS 31621 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in professional machining applications. Built to Series 16 specifications, this single-end tool features a 0.5-inch mill diameter, a 0.625-inch length of cut, and a 2.5-inch overall length. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and edge retention required for demanding cutting operations. With four flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and a consistent finish across a wide range of workpiece materials. The variable index geometry further reduces harmonic chatter during cuts.
This stub-length end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shop, production, and tool-and-die environments. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece without a pre-drilled pilot hole. The right-hand cutting and right-hand flute spiral make it compatible with standard spindle configurations. It is applicable across a broad material range, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, mild steel, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, and titanium, as indicated by workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S.
