The SGS 31134 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking applications. With a 0.0781-inch (5/64-inch) mill diameter and a 0.1875-inch (3/16-inch) length of cut, this tool is built for fine detail work and small-feature machining. It features three flutes with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix and an AlTiN coating that improves heat resistance and extends tool life in demanding cutting conditions. The 1/8-inch shank diameter and 1.5-inch overall length make it compatible with standard collet toolholding systems. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on a broad spectrum of workpiece materials. The primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S cover hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and high-temperature alloys. The single-end, right-hand cutting configuration suits standard vertical and horizontal machining center setups. Its micrograin carbide substrate and AlTiN coating make it a practical choice for both roughing and finishing passes on small contoured features, pockets, and slots where a tight diameter tolerance is required.
Designed for use with workpiece materials coded H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous materials, carbon and alloy steels, and superalloys. Compatible with standard 1/8-inch collet toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
Installation and operation of this end mill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a clean, properly sized 1/8-inch collet before beginning any operation. Verify runout at the collet and confirm correct speeds and feeds for the target workpiece material before engaging the cut. Do not exceed the stated length of cut or use the tool for operations outside its rated geometry.
