The SGS 30833 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling across a broad range of workpiece materials. It features a 23/64 inch (0.3594 inch) cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The three-flute geometry paired with a 30-degree right-hand helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life in demanding applications. The micrograin carbide substrate provides the hardness and edge retention required for high-speed, close-tolerance work. This end mill is a single-end, center-cutting tool suited for slot milling, profiling, and peripheral milling operations.
The SGS 30833 is rated for use on a wide range of materials, including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and titanium alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its regular-length classification and 2-1/2 inch overall length make it well suited to standard vertical machining center setups and manual knee mills where clearance and rigidity are priorities. It is used by machinists in job shops, production environments, and maintenance machining applications requiring tight dimensional control.
Designed for use in standard vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank. Rated for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for tool holding and runout. Secure the shank fully within the collet or end mill holder to the recommended grip length before tightening. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use. Never exceed the machine spindle speed or feed rate limits appropriate for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
