The SGS 30822 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 3/16-inch diameter, a 5/8-inch length of cut, and a 2-inch overall length, making it well suited for finishing and profiling passes in tight geometries. The AlTiN coating improves heat resistance and tool life when cutting harder or abrasive materials. With three spiral flutes and a right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration, this end mill provides efficient chip evacuation and a stable cutting action. It is installed and used by machinists and tooling professionals in CNC and manual milling applications.
This end mill is built for use across a broad spectrum of workpiece materials, including cast irons, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, carbon steels, high-temperature alloys, and non-metallic materials as indicated by material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The centercutting design allows plunge cuts as well as conventional side milling. The straight cylindrical shank accepts standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Regular length classification keeps deflection low in standard-depth applications. It is a common choice for production and prototype machining environments where consistent geometry and tight tolerances are required.
Designed for use with standard 3/16-inch collet chucks and end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Suitable for workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with spindle tooling and runout requirements. Secure the shank fully in the collet or holder to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout before initiating a cut. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting tooling. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for this diameter and material combination.
