The SGS 30813 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision metal removal in milling applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and finished with an AlTiN coating, it delivers hardness and heat resistance suitable for demanding cutting conditions. The tool measures 0.0469 inches (3/64 inches) in diameter with a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) length of cut and a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece. It is installed and used by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC mills and manual milling machines.
The SGS 30813 is suited for milling a broad range of materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel alloys, heat-resistant superalloys, and titanium alloys, consistent with primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its small diameter makes it well-suited for fine-detail slotting, profiling, and contouring passes in both prototype and production environments. The regular-length geometry fits standard toolholding collets sized for 1/8 inch shanks.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for CNC and manual milling machines accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank collet.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder and torque to the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, especially given the small diameter, which is sensitive to deflection at elevated feed rates.
