The SGS 30784 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. It measures 0.2188 inches in cutting diameter with a 0.625-inch length of cut and a 2.5-inch overall length. The 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank fits standard tool holders. Three flutes with a 30-degree right-hand spiral helix provide efficient chip evacuation and a smooth cutting action. A TiCN coating adds surface hardness and wear resistance. The micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances, with a mill diameter tolerance of -0.001 to -0.002 inches. This end mill is center-cutting, allowing direct plunge entry into the workpiece.
The SGS 30784 is suited for milling operations on cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, steel, and other materials corresponding to workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its regular-length geometry and 3-flute configuration make it a practical choice for slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling in both manual and CNC machining environments. Machinists in job shops, aerospace, and general manufacturing will find this tool appropriate for a broad set of applications where dimensional accuracy and tool life are priorities.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, high-temperature alloys, and general steel. Part of the SGS Series 5 end mill line. Fits standard 0.25-inch collet chucks and tool holders.
Installation is performed by a machinist or tooling technician. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism to the machine manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
