The SGS 30529 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision metal removal in milling applications. It features a 15/64-inch (0.2344-inch) cutting diameter, a 3/4-inch length of cut, and three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance needed for demanding cuts. At 2-1/2 inches overall length with a 1/4-inch straight cylindrical shank, this single-end tool fits standard collet chucks and tool holders common in CNC machining centers and manual mills. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry as well as peripheral and slot milling. Machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This end mill is rated for a wide range of workpiece materials, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, non-metals, steel, stainless steel, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. The regular-length profile and 3/4-inch LOC make it well suited for shallow-to-medium-depth slots, pockets, and profiling operations in both job shop and production environments. The bright, uncoated finish is appropriate for applications where coating is not required or where tool regrinding is anticipated.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide square end mill for standard 1/4-inch collet chucks, ER collets, and compatible milling tool holders used in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before mounting. Secure the shank to the full recommended engagement depth in the collet or tool holder and torque the retention nut per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout after installation before beginning a cut to protect both the tool and the workpiece.
