The SGS 30523 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in milling operations. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and wear resistance needed for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and composite materials. The cutter features a 3/16 inch diameter with a 5/8 inch length of cut and a 30-degree helix angle. Three flutes with a right-hand spiral and right-hand cutting direction balance chip evacuation with surface finish quality. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool on a straight-cylindrical shank, installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on vertical and horizontal milling machines or CNC machining centers.
The SGS 30523 suits small-diameter slot milling, profiling, and peripheral cutting in a range of workpiece materials including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, and titanium, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its regular-length geometry and 2 inch overall length make it appropriate for standard reach applications where rigidity is a priority. The bright, uncoated finish is suitable for operations where lubrication or coolant is applied externally.
Designed for use in workpiece material categories H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, heat-resistant alloys, long-chipping non-ferrous materials, and titanium alloys. Fits standard 3/16 inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
This end mill is installed by qualified machinists using a collet, end mill holder, or shrink-fit tooling rated for the shank diameter. Confirm runout and tool projection before commencing cuts, and never exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material. Secure the shank fully within the holder to the minimum insertion depth to avoid deflection or pullout. Always engage appropriate machine guarding and personal protective equipment during setup and operation.
