The SGS 30513 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/8 inch length of cut, and a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. Built from micrograin solid carbide, the tool delivers consistent edge retention and dimensional accuracy in demanding cutting conditions. With 3 flutes and a 30-degree helix angle, it balances chip evacuation with surface finish quality. The centercutting geometry allows plunge milling as well as conventional side and slot milling operations. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
The 30513 is suited for slot milling, profiling, and pocketing in a range of workpiece materials. The SGS Series 5 designation covers a regular-length geometry appropriate for close-tolerance work where rigidity matters. The primary workpiece material codes listed for this tool are H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering material families that include cast iron, nonferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and superalloys. Its compact 1-1/2 inch overall length minimizes overhang and reduces deflection in tight setups. The uncoated finish makes it well suited for applications where coating compatibility or regrinding is a consideration.
Designed for use with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by SGS Series 5 tooling. Fits any tool holder or collet accepting a 1/8 inch straight cylindrical shank with a shank diameter tolerance of +0.00000 / -0.00032 inches.
This end mill is installed by machinists in CNC machining centers or manual milling machines using a compatible collet or end mill holder sized for a 1/8 inch shank. Verify runout at the spindle before engaging the cut, as micrograin carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping from excessive runout or interrupted entry. Always set spindle speed and feed rate per the material being machined and the tool manufacturer recommendations before starting the cut. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the tool at first sign of chipping or edge wear.
