The SGS 30507 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-precision milling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. With a 1/16 inch (0.0625 inch) cutting diameter and a 3/16 inch length of cut, this single-end tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-feature milling. It features three right-hand spiral flutes ground from micrograin carbide stock, giving it the rigidity and edge retention needed for consistent performance across a range of workpiece materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while reducing cutting forces. The bright uncoated finish makes it a versatile choice across multiple material families.
This end mill is suited for machining centers and CNC mills performing slot milling, profiling, and contouring in small-diameter applications. The 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found in production and job-shop environments. The 1-1/2 inch overall length keeps the tool compact for use in confined features or shallow pockets. It is centercutting, allowing direct plunge entry when the application requires it. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working with ferrous and non-ferrous materials will find this tool appropriate for fine-detail work.
Rated for use across workpiece material families including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum, steel, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Designed for use in standard collet-style tool holders accepting a 1/8 inch shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down or in a safe state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly given the small diameter of this tool.
