The SGS 30506 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring a small-diameter cutting tool. With a 0.0469-inch (3/64-inch) mill diameter and a 0.1094-inch (7/64-inch) length of cut, this single-end mill is built for tight-tolerance work in confined areas. The micrograin carbide construction provides rigidity and edge retention at small diameters. A 30-degree right-hand helix and three-flute geometry promote chip evacuation and surface finish quality. This tool is used by machinists in job shops, tool rooms, and production environments across a range of workpiece materials.
The SGS 30506 is suited for milling operations on materials classified under workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast irons, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, steel alloys, super alloys, and general-purpose metals. The 1/8-inch shank diameter fits standard collets and tool holders commonly found on CNC machining centers and manual mills. With a 1.5-inch overall length and regular-length designation, this tool is appropriate for shallow-to-moderate depth profiling, slotting, and contouring passes where a small ball nose profile is required.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated in the supplier specifications. Fits standard 1/8-inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. No extended reach; coolant-through is not supported.
Installation and use of this end mill should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with CNC or manual milling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before changing tooling. Verify collet condition and runout before seating the 1/8-inch shank, as excessive runout at this diameter will accelerate tool wear and affect dimensional accuracy. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for appropriate feed rates and speeds for the workpiece material being cut.
