The SGS 30501 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a mill diameter of 0.0156 inches (1/64 inch) and a length of cut of 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch), this tool is engineered for fine detail work and tight-tolerance applications. The three-flute, spiral-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The micrograin carbide construction provides the hardness and wear resistance required for consistent performance in a wide range of workpiece materials. Installed by machinists and tooling technicians, this end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 1/8-inch collet.
The SGS 30501 is suited for small-feature milling operations in materials including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys, corresponding to material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry, making it adaptable for slotting, profiling, and pocketing operations. The 1-1/2-inch overall length and straight-cylindrical shank provide stable tool holding in compact setups. This is a regular-length, single-end, uncoated tool in the SGS Series 5 lineup, offered in a package quantity of one.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines equipped with a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical collet or tool holder. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S per SGS Series 5 classification.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Verify collet size matches the 0.1250-inch shank diameter and that the tool is seated and torqued per the machine manufacturer's collet specification. Given the small diameter of this tool, use appropriate feeds and speeds for the workpiece material to avoid tool deflection or breakage.
