The SGS 30475 is a single-end ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in a wide range of materials. Ground from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN for heat and wear resistance, this tool is built for demanding cutting environments. It runs a 0.0781-inch mill diameter with a 0.1875-inch length of cut, a 1/8-inch shank diameter, and a 1.5-inch overall length. The 30-degree right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation and helps maintain stable cutting action. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals use this mill where tight tolerances and fine detail work are required.
The SGS 30475 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, cast iron, and non-metallic materials, as indicated by its workpiece material codes covering H, K, M, N, P, and S classifications. Typical applications include profiling, slotting, and contouring in CNC machining centers handling close-tolerance work. The regular-length body keeps the tool rigid in shallow-to-moderate depth cuts, and the single-end configuration makes it straightforward to index and replace in tool holders.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/8-inch shank. Suitable for workpiece materials in HSS-equivalent, cast iron, non-ferrous, non-metallic, steel, and high-temperature alloy categories per SGS Series 3B application guidelines.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tightening to confirm the shank is properly seated within the collet or end mill holder. Do not exceed the rated depth of cut for the 0.1875-inch length of cut, and confirm cutting parameters against the SGS Series 3B feed and speed recommendations for the target material.
