The SGS 30371 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding shop environments. With a 0.75-inch mill diameter, a 1.5-inch length of cut, and a 4-inch overall length, this tool is built for controlled material removal in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The 2-flute geometry and 30-degree helix angle promote efficient chip evacuation. Manufactured from micrograin solid carbide, the 30371 offers the rigidity and edge retention required for high-tolerance contouring, slotting, and profiling operations. This is an uncoated, centercutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank and right-hand cut and flute direction.
The SGS 30371 is suited for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where a regular-length, standard-reach end mill is appropriate. Its centercutting capability allows plunge entry into the workpiece, making it versatile for slotting and pocketing operations. Primary workpiece material compatibility codes indicate suitability across cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum, steel, and superalloys. This tool is appropriate for job shops, tool rooms, and production environments where solid carbide performance is required.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum, steel, and superalloys. Designed for use in standard 0.75-inch collets, end mill holders, or shrink-fit tooling systems that accept a straight cylindrical shank.
Installation of end mills should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing tooling. Confirm the collet or holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to the recommended engagement depth. Verify runout with a dial indicator after tool installation and before beginning the machining operation.
