The SGS 30343 is a 2-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. It features a 11/32 inch (0.3438 inch) cutting diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and a 3/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. The micrograin carbide construction delivers rigidity and edge retention. A 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation, while the spiral flute geometry supports consistent cutting performance. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry into the workpiece. It is uncoated and suited for applications where coating is not required or where direct carbide contact is preferred.
The SGS 30343 is intended for use in CNC milling centers and manual mills in job shop, production, and maintenance environments. The workpiece material compatibility codes indicate suitability across cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, non-metals and plastics, steel, and high-temperature alloys. The regular-length geometry makes it a practical choice for standard-depth slotting, profiling, and peripheral milling operations. Machinists and CNC programmers working with light to medium material removal rates will find this a standard general-purpose tool for precision milling tasks.
Designed for use with standard 3/8 inch collets and end mill holders. Compatible workpiece material codes include H (cast iron), K (non-ferrous metals), M (stainless steel), N (non-metals and plastics), P (steel), and S (high-temperature alloys) per the supplier specification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with proper tool holding and speeds-and-feeds selection for carbide end mills. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and free of runout before securing the shank. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut for the cutting diameter and material being machined. Inspect the cutting edges before use and replace at first sign of chipping or excessive wear to avoid workpiece damage.
