The SGS 30321 is a two-flute, solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in a wide range of metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers the hardness and edge retention required for cutting ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The cutter measures 11/64 inches (0.1719 inches) in diameter with a 5/8-inch length of cut and a 3/16-inch straight cylindrical shank. Overall length is 2 inches. The 30-degree spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation, while the centercutting configuration allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece without a pilot hole.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers, manual knee mills, and toolroom setups where small-diameter, close-tolerance work is required. The right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration suits conventional milling spindles. The Series 3 designation places it in a regular-length category, appropriate for general slot milling, profiling, and step cutting. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S indicate suitability for cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, aluminum, steel, and high-temperature alloys.
Designed for use with standard 3/16-inch collets or end mill holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Compatible workpiece material codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S as designated by SGS Series 3 tooling specifications.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention hardware according to the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning production cuts, as runout beyond tolerance on a small-diameter carbide end mill can cause premature breakage.
