The SGS 30303 is a square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers rigidity and wear resistance in a compact form factor suited to fine-detail work. The cutting diameter measures 0.0313 inches (1/32 inch) with a length of cut of 0.0781 inches (5/64 inch) and a 30-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation. With two flutes and a right-hand cutting and flute direction, this end mill is a standard choice for machinists running light cuts in demanding materials. It is a single-end, center-cutting tool with a bright, uncoated finish.
The SGS 30303 is suited for milling operations on a wide range of workpiece materials, including ferrous metals, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and plastics, consistent with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its compact diameter makes it appropriate for engraving, slotting, profiling, and contouring operations where tight tolerances and fine detail are required. It is a Series 3 regular-length tool and fits standard machining centers, CNC mills, and manual mills equipped with an appropriate collet or toolholder accepting a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with collets or toolholders that accept a 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for workpiece materials corresponding to codes H, K, M, N, P, and S as specified by the manufacturer.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard toolholding procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is powered down before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully and evenly in a precision collet or end mill holder to the depth required by the holder manufacturer, and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Consult applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material and cut depth.
