The SGS 30199 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in milling operations. Built from micrograin carbide and coated with AlTiN for heat and wear resistance, it is suited for high-speed cutting across a wide range of materials. The 30199 features a 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch) mill diameter, a 1/2 inch length of cut, and a 4-flute configuration with a 30-degree helix angle. Single-end geometry and a straight cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet toolholding systems. This tool is typically installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and CNC programmers in production and maintenance shop environments.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, stainless steels, and cast materials. The AlTiN coating extends tool life in dry and high-temperature cutting conditions. The variable index design reduces harmonic vibration during cutting, improving surface finish and dimensional accuracy. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/16 inch shank diameter, it fits compact toolholding setups used in vertical machining centers and CNC knee mills.
The SGS 30199 is compatible with workpiece materials coded H, K, M, N, P, and S per the supplier classification, covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, steel alloys, and superalloys. Designed for use with standard 3/16 inch collet toolholding systems.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet holder. Verify collet size matches the 3/16 inch shank diameter before tightening. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use and do not exceed the rated length of cut when side milling.
