The SGS 30195 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding shop environments. It features an AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating and a spiral flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle. The cutter measures 5/64 inch (0.0781 inch) in diameter with a 3/16 inch length of cut and a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Overall length is 1-1/2 inches. The micrograin carbide substrate and variable index flute spacing help reduce chatter and extend tool life in hard and exotic material applications. Licensed machinists and CNC setup techs are the primary users.
The SGS 30195 is suited for slotting, profiling, and finishing operations on a range of workpiece materials including hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and high-temperature alloys. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. The regular-length body fits standard 1/8 inch ER or collet toolholders common to CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. It is a Series 1 end mill intended for general-purpose high-performance work at small diameters.
Designed for use in standard 1/8 inch collet or ER toolholding systems on CNC machining centers and manual mills. Primary workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S cover hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and heat-resistant superalloys.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool release mechanism is de-energized before changing end mills. Seat the shank fully in the collet to the recommended gauge-line depth and torque the collet nut per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or coating damage before each use, as carbide tools at this diameter are brittle and sensitive to improper handling.
