The SGS 30192 is a square end mill designed for precision material removal in tight-tolerance machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN, it delivers high wear resistance and thermal stability at elevated cutting speeds. The 4-flute geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a smooth finish. At 0.0312 inches in diameter with a 5/64-inch (0.0781 inches) length of cut, this is a small-diameter tool intended for intricate slot milling, contouring, and finishing passes. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank and 1.5-inch overall length suit standard collet and chuck setups on CNC machining centers. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for general-purpose and precision machining of a broad range of work materials, including cast irons, non-ferrous metals, stainless steels, carbon and alloy steels, heat-resistant superalloys, and non-metallic materials. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic vibration during cuts, making it especially useful for thin-wall features and fine detail work in mold-making, aerospace component machining, and medical device manufacturing. The centercutting design allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills using 1/8-inch shank collet systems. Compatible with work materials designated under codes H, K, M, N, P, and S per the supplier material classification system.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe, locked-out state. Ensure the collet or chuck is clean and within specified runout tolerance before seating the shank, as small-diameter carbide tools are sensitive to excessive runout and can fracture under lateral loading. Do not exceed the recommended depth of cut or feed rate for the work material. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use.
