The SGS 30121 is a single-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in a wide range of metalworking applications. Ground from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the hardness and rigidity needed for consistent performance in demanding cuts. Key dimensions include an 11/64 inch (0.1719 inch) cutting diameter, a 5/8 inch (0.6250 inch) length of cut, a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) straight cylindrical shank, and a 2 inch overall length. The 4-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and a stable cutting action. The centercutting geometry allows for plunge entry as well as standard peripheral milling. Installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals, this end mill is suited for CNC mills and manual milling machines alike.
The SGS 30121 is rated for use across multiple workpiece material categories, including cast iron, non-ferrous metals, stainless steel, steel, and high-temperature alloys, as indicated by its primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S. Its regular-length classification and small-diameter profile make it well suited for slotting, profiling, and light pocket milling in tight features or small-scale parts. The uncoated micrograin carbide construction provides a sharp cutting edge that performs consistently in both wet and dry machining environments. This is a Series 1 tool, sold individually.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-purpose end mill compatible with standard 3/16 inch collets, ER collet chucks, and straight-shank tool holders used in CNC and manual milling machines.
This end mill should be installed by a qualified machinist following machine tool safety procedures. Ensure the milling machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully in a clean, undamaged collet or end mill holder and torque the retention hardware per the tool-holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before initiating a cut, particularly at this small diameter, as excessive runout accelerates tool wear and can cause breakage.
