The SGS 30112 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations across a wide range of workpiece materials. With a 0.0938-inch (3/32-inch) mill diameter and a 4-flute spiral configuration, it delivers efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes in tight-tolerance applications. The micrograin carbide construction provides rigidity and wear resistance at elevated cutting speeds. A 30-degree helix angle supports balanced cutting forces, making it well suited for both roughing and finishing passes on small-feature geometry. Installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers, this single-end tool is built for high-accuracy work in production and job-shop environments.
The SGS 30112 is used in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual milling machines where small-diameter end mills are required. It addresses applications involving complex 3D contours, slots, pockets, and profiling on parts made from materials including hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, high-temperature alloys, and plastics. The regular-length design and 1/8-inch shank diameter make it a standard fit in collet-style toolholders and small-bore shrink-fit holders commonly used for fine-detail work.
Designed for use with workpiece materials classified under primary material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and high-temperature alloys. Fits standard 1/8-inch collet toolholding systems.
Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secure in a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder before beginning any operation. Verify shank runout is within tolerance using a dial indicator before cutting. Refer to the cutting tool manufacturer speed and feed recommendations and the machine tool documentation for appropriate parameters for each workpiece material.
