The SGS 30105 is a solid carbide, 4-flute square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a 3/64 inch (0.0469 inch decimal) mill diameter and a 7/64 inch (0.1094 inch decimal) length of cut, this tool is built for tight-tolerance work in small-feature applications. The micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance well beyond high-speed steel tooling. A 30-degree helix angle and right-hand cutting direction deliver efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. Variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during cuts, extending both tool life and workpiece quality. This end mill is typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
The SGS 30105 is suited for milling hardened steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, plastics, and high-temperature alloys, consistent with its P, M, K, N, H, and S workpiece material codes. Its regular-length geometry and 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard collet chucks and toolholders used in production and prototype machining. The single-end, centercutting design allows plunge entry and peripheral milling in the same tool, which is useful for slot milling, profiling, and contouring operations on small-diameter features.

Installation is performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always power down and lock out the spindle before installing or removing end mills. Seat the shank fully into the collet or toolholder to the recommended engagement depth before torquing the retention mechanism. Inspect the cutting edges under magnification before use and discard the tool if chipping or edge wear is present, as micro-diameter carbide end mills are sensitive to side-load deflection and should not be reused when compromised.
