The SGS 30011 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in metalworking and machining applications. With a 21/64 inch (0.3281 inch) cutting diameter and a 1 inch length of cut, this tool removes material cleanly on the end and periphery. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An AlTiN finish improves heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding cuts. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, giving machinists flexibility in toolpath strategy. Micrograin carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and edge integrity across a wide range of workpiece materials.
The SGS 30011 is suited for milling ferrous and non-ferrous metals including steels, cast iron, stainless, aluminum, and high-temperature alloys. The variable index flute spacing reduces harmonic chatter during aggressive cuts, making this tool a practical choice for finishing passes and contour work on CNC machining centers and manual mills. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard 3/8 inch collets and tool holders used in production and job-shop environments. The regular-length profile keeps the tool rigid in shallow-to-moderate depth cuts.
Compatible with workpiece material codes H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering hardened steels, cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, carbon and alloy steels, and heat-resistant superalloys. Fits any standard 3/8 inch collet or end mill holder on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
A licensed machinist or CNC operator should install this end mill using a clean, undamaged 3/8 inch collet or hydraulic tool holder, torqued per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Verify runout at the cutting tip before starting production cuts to protect both the tool and the workpiece. Follow shop-specific speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and do not exceed the tool's rated length of cut depth per pass.
