The SGS 30007 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking applications. It features a 17/64 inch (0.2656 inch) cutting diameter, a 3/4 inch length of cut, and a 5/16 inch straight cylindrical shank. The four-flute, right-hand spiral geometry combined with an AlTiN coating delivers heat resistance and extended tool life in hard and abrasive materials. Micrograin carbide construction maintains edge sharpness across a range of workpiece materials. This end mill is centercutting, allowing plunge entry in addition to peripheral and slot milling operations.
The SGS 30007 is suited for milling operations on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, heat-resistant alloys, and cast materials. Primary workpiece material compatibility codes include H, K, M, N, P, and S, covering tool steels, cast irons, stainless steels, non-ferrous metals, carbon steels, and high-temperature alloys. With a 2-1/2 inch overall length and regular length classification, it fits standard CNC machining centers and manual milling machines where compact reach and rigidity are priorities. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify runout after clamping to stay within the shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 / -0.0004 inches. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and applicable shop safety procedures when setting cutting parameters for the workpiece material.
