Product Description

The SGS 07372 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and small-diameter through-hole applications. Built to wire gauge size No. 41, it has a decimal diameter of 0.0960 inches (2.44 mm) and an overall length of 1.5 inches. The 130-degree four-facet point geometry produces a clean entry with minimal thrust force and reduced walking on hard or layered materials. The uncoated solid carbide construction maintains dimensional accuracy across a wide range of workpiece materials. A licensed machinist or electronics fabrication technician typically runs this bit in CNC drilling equipment or precision drill presses.

This drill bit is suited for drilling circuit boards, composite laminates, and precision small-hole applications in both production and prototype environments. The regular right-hand spiral with a 30-degree helix angle supports efficient chip evacuation in shallow, high-speed passes. Material compatibility covers aluminum, cast iron, cobalt alloy, copper alloy, fiber-reinforced polymers, nickel, plastics, stainless steel, and titanium, making it a versatile option across electronics and light machining work. The tapered web and two-flute design are optimized for the feed rates and spindle speeds typical in PCB drill operations.

Key Features

  • Wire gauge size No. 41 - 0.0960 inch (2.44 mm) decimal diameter
  • 130-degree four-facet point for clean entry and low thrust on thin substrates
  • Solid carbide construction for dimensional stability and extended tool life
  • Regular right-hand spiral with 30-degree helix for effective chip evacuation
  • Tapered web configuration reduces walking at entry
  • Uncoated finish - no coating buildup in tight-tolerance bores

Compatibility

Designed for use in CNC PCB drilling machines and precision drill presses that accept a 0.125-inch (1/8 inch) shank. Compatible with workpiece materials including aluminum, cast iron, cobalt alloy, copper alloy, fiber-reinforced polymers, nickel, plastics, stainless steel, and titanium.

Installation Notes

This bit is installed by a machinist or PCB fabrication technician in a collet or chuck rated for the 0.125-inch shank diameter. Confirm spindle runout is within tolerance before use - solid carbide is rigid and sensitive to lateral load. Power down and lock out the spindle before changing bits. Do not use in hand-held drilling applications; the small diameter and carbide construction require a rigid machine setup to prevent breakage.
