The SGS 07346 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board fabrication and similar fine-tolerance applications. Ground to a wire gauge size 51 (0.0670 inches decimal), the bit features a 130-degree four-facet point geometry that promotes accurate entry, reduces walking, and minimizes burring on exit. The 1/8-inch (0.1250 inch decimal) shank diameter fits standard CNC drill spindles and precision hand-piece chucks. With a regular spiral and 30-degree helix angle, this uncoated bit provides efficient chip evacuation in shallow-depth circuit board material. Installation and use are typically handled by electronics assembly technicians, CNC machine operators, and precision fabrication shops.
This drill bit is suited for drilling through printed circuit boards, fiber-reinforced polymers, plastics, and non-ferrous metals encountered in electronics manufacturing environments. The two-flute configuration and tapered web keep cutting forces low, making it appropriate for thin, brittle substrates where heat and deflection must be controlled. It is also rated for use in aluminum, copper alloy, cast iron, cobalt alloy, nickel, stainless steel, and titanium workpieces, covering a broad range of materials found in precision machining and prototyping workflows.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use solid carbide circuit board drill bit for CNC drilling equipment and precision hand-piece tools that accept a 1/8-inch shank. Rated for use in aluminum, cast iron, cobalt alloy, copper alloy, fiber-reinforced polymers, nickel, plastics, stainless steel, and titanium workpieces per SGS Series 105 specifications.
This bit is installed by CNC machine operators or precision technicians in appropriate drill spindle chucks rated for the 1/8-inch shank diameter. Always ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the spindle is at a full stop before changing bits. Verify chuck runout is within tolerance before drilling fine-diameter holes, as excessive runout accelerates carbide breakage at this diameter. Follow equipment manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate selection based on workpiece material.
