The SGS 07342 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit engineered for precision drilling in printed circuit boards and similar thin, hard-to-machine substrates. With a 1.6 mm (0.0630 inch) cutting diameter and a 130-degree four-facet point, it enters material cleanly and exits with minimal burr. The 1/8-inch (3.18 mm) shank diameter fits standard PCB drill chucks and CNC routing spindles. At 1.5 inches overall length with a 0.40-inch flute length, this bit is sized for shallow-hole PCB work. Right-hand cut with a 30-degree helix and regular spiral geometry, it is suited for electronics assembly shops and precision machine shops requiring consistent hole quality in delicate or layered materials.
The SGS 07342 is designed for drilling into fiber-reinforced polymers, plastics, aluminum, copper alloy, cast iron, stainless steel, cobalt alloy, nickel, and titanium. Its heavy-duty grade and uncoated solid carbide construction make it a practical choice for PCB fabrication, prototype assembly, and light metalworking operations where tight hole tolerances are critical. The tapered web configuration aids chip evacuation in shallow-depth applications typical of circuit board work.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or service bit for CNC PCB drilling machines and manual drill presses equipped with a 1/8-inch collet or chuck. Compatible workpiece materials include aluminum, cast iron, cobalt alloy, copper alloy, fiber-reinforced polymers, nickel, plastics, stainless steel, and titanium.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machining or electronics fabrication technicians familiar with CNC spindle tooling and PCB drilling equipment. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing bits. Verify collet size matches the 1/8-inch shank before seating the bit, and confirm runout is within acceptable limits before beginning a production run to avoid oversized or off-location holes.
