The SGS 07315 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit board (PCB) fabrication and similar fine-tolerance applications. Sized at wire gauge 63 (0.0370 inches / 0.94 mm), it features a 130-degree four-facet point that reduces walking and improves hole accuracy in thin, layered materials. The 1/8-inch (0.1250 inch) shank and 1.5-inch overall length make it compatible with standard PCB drilling spindles and small precision drill presses. Two flutes with a 30-degree helix angle and regular spiral geometry provide efficient chip evacuation. The uncoated solid carbide construction delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for repeatable, tight-tolerance holes.
The SGS 07315 is suited for drilling aluminum, copper alloy, stainless steel, titanium, cobalt alloy, cast iron, nickel, plastics, fiber-reinforced polymers, and other materials common in electronics manufacturing, precision machining, and prototype fabrication. The tapered web configuration supports strength at the cutting edge while minimizing thrust force in delicate substrates. This bit is typically used by PCB fabricators, tool and die shops, and precision machine shops requiring consistent micro-diameter holes.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch shank collets on PCB drilling machines, CNC micro-drilling spindles, and precision drill presses. Compatible workpiece materials include aluminum, cast iron, cobalt alloy, copper alloy, fiber-reinforced polymers, nickel, plastics, stainless steel, and titanium as specified by the manufacturer.
This bit is installed by PCB fabricators and precision machinists using collet-style chucks sized for 1/8-inch shanks. Ensure the spindle and collet are clean and free of debris before seating the shank to avoid runout. Solid carbide bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel - avoid side loading and do not use them as a pry or lever. Match feed rate and spindle RPM to the workpiece material per standard machining practice to maximize bit life and hole quality.
