The SGS 07314 is a solid carbide circuit board drill bit designed for precision drilling in printed circuit boards and other tight-tolerance applications. It carries a wire gauge size of 64, which corresponds to a decimal diameter of 0.0360 inches (0.91 mm), and features a 130-degree four-facet point for accurate entry and reduced walking on hard or layered materials. The 1/8-inch (0.1250 inches) shank diameter fits standard drill chucks and CNC spindles. With a regular spiral and a 30-degree helix angle, the bit evacuates chips efficiently while maintaining hole quality. This bit is manufactured from solid carbide with an uncoated finish, making it suitable for high-speed operation where coating buildup or edge contamination cannot be tolerated.
This bit is used in electronics manufacturing, PCB prototyping, and precision machining environments. Its material application range covers aluminum, cast iron, cobalt alloy, copper alloy, fiber-reinforced polymers, nickel, plastics, stainless steel, and titanium. It is appropriate for both manual drill press work and CNC machine tool applications where small-diameter, high-precision holes are required in multilayer or single-layer circuit boards. The two-flute geometry and tapered web configuration help maintain rigidity at this diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use circuit board drill bit for CNC drilling machines, manual drill presses, and PCB fabrication equipment accepting a 1/8-inch shank diameter bit.
This bit is typically installed by machinists, PCB fabricators, or electronics technicians using CNC drilling equipment or precision benchtop drill presses. Power down and de-energize all equipment before changing bits. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck to the manufacturer-specified depth before operation. At this diameter, carbide bits are brittle and should not be used in hand-held rotary tools where lateral force cannot be controlled.
