The SGS 07292 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for very small hole drilling in demanding materials. It carries a wire gauge size of 76, equal to 0.020 inches in diameter, and features a 130-degree four-facet point that reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. The spiral flute geometry and web-thinned construction work together to clear chips efficiently in deep, tight bores up to 0.260 inches. The 1/8-inch straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. This bit is manufactured to KSPT ISO 9001:2015 standards and holds a diameter tolerance of plus 0.0000 to plus 0.0003 inches, making it appropriate for precision work in production and toolroom environments.
The SGS 07292 is suited for drilling small-diameter holes in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium. Typical applications include precision machining, toolroom work, electronics manufacturing, and any task requiring controlled, repeatable hole quality at wire-gauge diameters. The bit is sold individually and is used by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians working on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held precision drilling fixtures. Its 13xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports moderate-depth passes in both manual and automated setups.
Designed for use in standard 1/8-inch collets and drill chucks on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision drilling fixtures. Suitable for workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, and titanium as indicated by material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Install in a clean, properly sized collet or drill chuck to ensure concentricity and prevent premature breakage at this small diameter. Confirm runout is minimized before beginning a cut, as deviation at 0.020 inches diameter significantly increases breakage risk. Power down the spindle completely before changing or inspecting the bit. Use cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material to manage heat and chip load.
