The SGS 07152 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for very small hole drilling in demanding machining applications. Built to Series M105 specifications, it features a 1.02 mm (0.0400 inch, No. 60 wire gauge) cutting diameter with a 130-degree four-facet point and a Ti-NAMITE-A coating for extended tool life and reduced friction. The overall length is 1.5000 inches with a flute length of 0.4000 inches and a straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.1250 inches (1/8 inch). This bit is installed by machinists and CNC operators working in precision drilling environments where tight tolerances and small-diameter hole quality are critical.
The SGS 07152 is suited for drilling very small-diameter holes in a wide range of workpiece materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. Its web-thinned geometry and spiral flute design support chip evacuation in deep, tight bores up to 0.4000 inches. Typical applications include precision component manufacturing, mold making, aerospace part fabrication, and medical device machining where sub-millimeter hole accuracy is required.
Designed for use with CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision drilling fixtures accepting a 1/8 inch (0.1250 inch) straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials per ISO material codes P, M, K, N, S, and H.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC programmers familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle and collet are clean and properly sized for the 1/8 inch shank before securing the bit. Micro drill bits are sensitive to runout — verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before drilling to avoid bit deflection or breakage. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety protocols when setting speeds and feeds for carbide micro tooling.
