The SGS 02241 is a 4-flute solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding machining environments. With a cutting diameter of 0.008 inches and a length of cut of 0.012 inches, this tool is built for micro-scale milling applications where tight tolerances and surface finish are critical. The AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life when cutting hard or abrasive materials. The micrograin carbide substrate supports cutting edge integrity at high spindle speeds. This end mill is installed and operated by CNC machinists and toolroom professionals working in precision manufacturing environments.
This end mill is suited for fine-detail milling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous materials, including hardened steels and superalloys where AlTiN coatings deliver measurable performance advantages. The right-hand cutting and right-hand spiral flute configuration makes it compatible with standard CNC machining center spindle setups. The straight cylindrical shank with a diameter of 0.125 inches seats directly into standard collet systems. The 30-degree helix angle and centercutting capability allow plunge entry and helical interpolation in tight features.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement-style solid carbide square end mill for use in standard collet systems accepting a 0.125 inch straight shank, compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for right-hand rotation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Power down and lock out the spindle drive before inserting or removing the end mill from the collet or tool holder. Verify collet size matches the 0.125 inch shank diameter and that the collet is clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended spindle speeds and feed rates for the given workpiece material.
